CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (2017)
The Certificate is a qualification in its own right, while also being a formal route into the Professional CIMA qualification. You need no formal qualifications to start the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
The CIMA Certificate qualification
There are four modules which can be completed in any order:
- BA1 Fundamentals of Business Economics
- BA2 Fundamentals of Management Accounting
- BA3 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
- BA4 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
The computer based exams are 2 hours long, on demand and comprise 60 to 85 objective test style questions. Although a specific pass mark has not been published, you will need to achieve at least 100 out of 150 to pass.
You can sit your exam at any First Intuition or Pearson Vue test centre. Simply contact your nearest exam centre directly to book.

Transition advice following the 2011 syllabus
Since the 2017 syllabus was launched on 11th January, students are no longer able to take exams under the 2011 syllabus.
