Darren had a profound impact on our organisation and on many people within it. He worked previously at another training provider alongside several members of what is now the First Intuition team, and in 2010 he went on to co-found iCount Training. In 2021, iCount joined First Intuition, with Darren playing an instrumental role in bringing the two organisations together and in building strong relationships between our teams. Following the merger Darren took on a leadership role for the North West region as Managing Director, with the opening of the FI Liverpool centre in 2023 included as one of his many recent achievements.

Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Darren remained deeply committed to teaching throughout his career at both iCount and then First Intuition. A number of his former students followed his footsteps into teaching and joined First Intuition after they qualified; a legacy he was particularly proud of.

Darren will be remembered for his dedication, his passion for education, and the lasting impact he had on colleagues, students and the wider business. He was highly respected and will be greatly missed. Everyone who met Darren has a story to tell about him, whether that’s about his sense of humour, or how supportive and kind he was – he absolutely cared about people, and that came across in any interaction with him.

Our thoughts are with Darren’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
