What are the PRECIOUS awards?
Launched in 2008 by Foluke Akinlose MBE, The PRECIOUS Awards were created in response to the lack of visibility for women of colour at mainstream awards ceremonies. Since then, they have grown into a movement celebrating the talent, resilience and innovation of women of colour across the UK, acknowledging hundreds of trailblazing professionals and entrepreneurs.
On her nomination, Joanne said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to share that I’ve been selected as a finalist in the Professional Services category of the PRECIOUS Awards. To be named alongside such inspiring finalists is truly an honour. This nomination means a lot to me, both personally and professionally. It reflects not just my own journey, but the collective effort of those who have believed in, supported, and collaborated with me along the way, colleagues, mentors, and the incredible teams I’ve had the privilege to lead. Win or lose, I’m proud to stand among such outstanding professionals who are breaking boundaries, shaping change, and redefining what leadership looks like in our sector.”
