Matt qualified as a chartered accountant before spending the last 25 years working in the professional education sector. Matt is Managing Director of FI Reading and Southampton and still hasn’t lost his passion for teaching, even after all of these years. His favourite hobby is cycling and he spends most of the year stressing that he hasn’t done enough training for his next trip to the mountains.

Claire trained as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with PwC before moving into professional training in 2001. Claire is a Founder and Directors of FI Reading and Southampton, Claire continues to teach the financial reporting stream and support the day to day operations of the team. Claire is never happier than when digging in the garden with a cup of tea and chocolate biscuit.

Jo qualified as a solicitor before joining KPMG in 1994 where she completed the Chartered Tax qualification. She has 15 year’s experience working in practice at KPMG and Deloitte before joining First Intuition. Jo teaches tax, law, business strategy and management accounts.

Ryan worked in Accounting Practice, working on all aspects of accounts, tax and audit for a large range of clients. During his time studying for his ACCA exams he got quite inspired by the teaching profession and moved into the industry a couple of years after qualifying. Ryan is one of the founders and Directors of First Intuition Reading and Southampton. Having set up the Company with Matt, Jo and Claire in 2011 he now oversees the the commercial team ensuring we deliver an exceptional client experience. He also teaches Audit and Corporate Reporting. Ryan spends his spare time doing just enough exercise including park runs and cycling to allow him to continue to eat what he likes! He also likes a bit of DIY, and it turns our those who can audit can do tiling! (Must be the attention to detail!)

John worked in industry in a range of Finance and Internal Audit roles. John is the Finance Director of FI Reading and Southampton, he teaches Financial Management and Management Accounting. John enjoys reading, spending time in the outdoors and watching Liverpool play football!

Victoria has more than 10 years’ experience in the management sector. She looks after Quality and Compliance for our Apprenticeships programmes. When she’s not at work she can be found pampering her rescued cat, cooking or baking.

Emma previously worked in administration roles. She now makes sure the Southampton office runs smoothly as well as supports students with their studies, including looking after our Functional Skills programme and being part of the SEN team. Emma is a big reader, a self taught knitter and is part of a local group who help fundraise for charities and try new activities.

FI taught Ellie AAT level 2 when she first left school and she loved it so much she joined the company as an employee. She is now Head of the client partner team – loves working with the clients and ensuring we are deliving on our promises! She enjoys socialisng with friends, country side walks with my very energetic puppy.

Aga qualified as a teacher and had over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry. For several years, she managed a restaurant and simultaneously worked as a part time Teaching Assistant at school. Prior to joining First Intuition, Aga worked as a training manager and tutor for courses related to hospitality and retail. Age is now a Executive Client Partner. Aga enjoys Travelling and baking in her spare time.

Rebecca previously worked in Customer Service at FI Reading. Rebecca in now the Senior Compliance Officer ensuring compliance with the apprenticeship funding rules. Rebecca enjoys walking in the countryside.

Maryam works in the finance team. She is also studying towards her accounting qualifications. Before joining, Maryam worked alongside British Airways as a student ambassador where she offered support to prospective students.

Allie studied law with criminology before qualifying with a large investment company based in Newbury. She teaches management accounting, business strategy and finance bringing her range of experience into the classroom. She also won the British Championships as an ice-skater!

Charlotte has been teaching since 2007, before she was an auditor in an accounting practice. She is a senior tutor teaching a variety of subjects including tax, financial management and audit. Charlotte is a self-confessed board game geek, who also runs a bit and goes to the gym so that she doesn’t feel so guilty about eating chocolate.

Steve qualified in practice before moving to the accountancy software industry where, as well as being part of the executive team, he designed accounts production and practice management software. Steve teaches mainly economics, management and strategy, and case study papers across all the professional qualifications. Steve’s hobbies include tinkering with his classic car and running his son’s junior football team.

Amy qualified as a Chartered Accountant in a small accountancy practice before becoming a tutor shortly after qualifying. Amy is a Senior tutor specialising in Financial Reporting and Financial Management. Amy enjoys yoga, cycling, cooking (and eating) nice food and spending time with friends and family.

Frankie qualified with EY in London, before moving to a medium size firm as a manager, specialising in audit, accounts and advisory work with a focus on the media and entertainment industry. Frankie is one of our tutors and mainly teaches Audit and Financial Reporting. Frankie is a keen skier and enjoys cooking and baking (fitting for a former chalet girl), and limits her exercise to walking the dog!

Elaine studied for a degree in Geography before joining FI as a skills coach. Elaine enjoys baking, reading and embroidery when she can!

Belinda worked in financial services (insurance) before retraining as an Assessor and Internal Quality Assuror within a college delivering professional apprenticeships before moving into business development. She then moved to a training provider in London managing their online provision delivering employability skills to jobseekers. Belinda is one of our Skills Coach Team Manager and our Functional Skills IQA. Belinda enjoys socialising with friends, going to the gym and holidays.

Tracey was a school teacher for 10 years before joining First Intuition. She is passionate about education and working with her apprentices. Tracey loves to travel and is always looking for the next place she can explore.

Laura worked for a large Building Society as a Personal Banking manager in the local branch and then as a Buy to Let Mortgage Underwriter. Previously she has been a Training Manager for an Insurance Company. Laura is now a Senior Skills and Development Coach. Laura enjoys Skiing, travelling, yoga and spending time with friends and family

Belinda has a degree in Business Studies and worked in customer services upon graduation. She retrained as a Beauty Therapist and owned her own salon for several years. She then retrained as a teacher and taught Business Studies at a secondary school. (GCSE, A-Level and BTEC Level 3). Belinda is now a Senior Skills and Development Coach. Belinda enjoys visiting resturants and socialising. She really enjoys going to live music events when ever possible!

Roz was Head of English at a school for learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues. Before that, she was Curriculum Manager for Functional Skills at a Further Education college in North London. And before that, Roz taught yoga for a decade. Roz is now a Skills and Development Coach. Roz enjoys spending time at her allotment and anything food-related in good company.
