Set up and check your ACCA account

Before booking your exams, you’ll need to register as an ACCA student. The process is quick and done online at ACCA Global,  you’ll just be asked for some basic details like your name, address, and contact information, as well as proof identification such as driver’s license, passport or birth certificate.

Once registered, you’ll receive your unique ACCA student ID and gain access to your myACCA account, where you can manage your studies, book exams, and keep track of your progress.

Ensure your details are up to date

Make sure your personal details and payment information are accurate. You will not be able to book an exam if there are any outstanding fees on your account.

Exam Progression

ACCA runs four exam sessions each year for Skills and Strategic Professional level exams: March, June, September, and December. You can sit up to four exams per session and a maximum of eight per year, either at a centre or remotely (where available). For Strategic Professional exams, it’s important to check the timetable before booking multiple exams in the same session, as some may be scheduled on the same day.

On-demand CBEs are available year-round for all Applied Knowledge exams, Corporate and Business Law (LW), and foundation-level papers.

Exams must be taken in order:

  1. Applied Knowledge
  2. Applied Skills
  3. Ethics and Professional Skills module
  4. Strategic Professional (Essentials and Options)

You can take exams in any order within a level, but to progress you must enter for all remaining papers in your current level. The Ethics and Professional Skills module can be taken any time after Applied Knowledge, but ACCA recommends completing it before Strategic Professional.

Choosing your exam format

When booking your ACCA exams, you can choose to sit them at a test centre or remotely from home. Both options have their benefits, so it’s worth considering which works best for you.

  • Remote exams: Sit from home, save travel time, and enjoy flexible start times. You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a quiet space.
  • Centre based exams: Professional environment with invigilation and stable equipment. Travel and limited dates may apply.

If you’re unsure which format is best, ACCA’s exam decision tree tool can help you decide. Remote exams offer convenience, flexibility, and comfort, but only if you meet the pre-booking requirements.

How to book an ACCA exam via myACCA

If you’re booking your exams through ACCA, everything starts in your myACCA account. You’ll use the ACCA Exam Planner to select and confirm your exams.

When booking, you will:

  • Choose the exam you want to sit
  • Select whether to sit at an exam centre or, if available, as a remote exam
  • Pick a session (March, June, September or December) or an on-demand slot if your exam is available year-round
  • Confirm your booking and make payment

Keep in mind:

  • Places at certain exam centres can fill up quickly, even if the booking window is open.
  • There are standard and late-entry deadlines for each session, and late bookings usually come with higher fees.
  • To see what exam formats (centre or remote / session or on-demand) are allowed in your country, check the Exam Availability and Booking tree on the ACCA website.

After booking, you’ll see confirmation in your myACCA account, and ACCA will also send you an email with your exam details. Keep this safe as it is your official confirmation.

How to book your Computer Based Exam (CBE) at an FI study centre

If you’re booking your exam through First Intuition, the process starts by checking which of our centres run computer-based exams (CBEs). You can do this on the exam booking page.

When booking, you will:

  • Choose the exam you want to sit (Applied Knowledge or certain Applied Skills modules available as on-demand CBEs)
  • Select the First Intuition centre where you’d like to take your exam
  • Complete your booking either through the Book Now section on the main page or via the checkout area for that specific centre
  • Confirm your booking and make payment

Keep in mind:

  • FI exam slots often sell out about a week before, so book early
  • Reschedules must be made at least 14 days in advance (see FI T&Cs)
  • ACCA CBEs are only available for First Intuition students
  • ACCA exam terms & conditions are different, so always check which rules apply

After booking, you’ll receive confirmation from your chosen First Intuition centre, keep this safe, as it’s your official record of the exam booking.

Need to reschedule?

You can update your exam entry in the Exam Planner any time before the standard entry deadline. Options include:

  • Cancelling an exam
  • Changing the time, location, or variant
  • Switching to a remote exam (where available)
  • Adding more exams

All changes must be made through the Exam Planner using your myACCA login, Customer Services can’t make these changes for you.

For First Intuition CBE’s, different terms and conditions apply for changes to bookings. First Intuition’s CBE terms and conditions can be found here.

Can I request special facilities at the exam centre?

If you need special arrangements for an exam via ACCA, submit a request via the Additional Support Portal, where you’ll also find details on available support.

If you’ve booked your exam at a First Intuition centre, the centre team is on hand to support you and answer any questions.
