You may think that you already know how to study, but to be successful at professional exams, you need to develop a whole new approach. This will allow you to combine a demanding new job with preparing for highly technical exams. These FREE Study Skills Sessions are designed to provide useful tips and advice to start you on your journey promoting good study techniques and efficient use of time. Each session is bite-sized to make the most of your time. Details of each topic are below.

Making the most of your course with First Intuition- 28th October at 5pm
Time at college is precious whether you are attending in person or virtually. This 35-minute session will provide some useful tips about what to expect and how to maximise the benefit of your time away from the workplace. This study skills session will lay the groundwork for all of your studies with First Intuition.
Gaining the right approach to your apprenticeship: failing in order to succeed- 4th November at 5pm
This session is about building resilience, avoiding the pitfalls and negative spirals which can destroy your confidence and prevent you from achieving your goals. We will explore why we sometimes need to take a chance in order to improve our knowledge, even when there is a risk that we may not succeed the first time. This session is relevant to the workplace and to technical development.
Revising and using your time effectively- 11th November at 5pm
Have you ever wondered why despite hours of work you do not seem to remember as much as you wanted to? This study skill session will look at the myth of time spent = success and help you to develop ways to effectively manage your study time and achieve more with less time.
Preparing for the real exam- 18th November at 5pm
As exams are approaching for many of you this session will provide tips on managing stress on the exam day and maximising your chances of a good outcome. We will also cover some basic time management techniques for the real exam.
