After the success of the ICAEW bridging programme, First Intuition will be running free ICAEW revision preparation sessions for the Professional level exams towards the December 2020 sitting.

What can I expect from ICAEW Revision Preparation sessions?

Each ICAEW Revision Preparation Session will focus on a specific course and run from 5:00-6:30pm on the designated date. The sessions will look at exam techniques and provide you with the skills in preparation for your ICAEW revision course.

What will be covered in each ICAEW Revision Preparation sessions?

Finance Accounting and Reporting

Session 1 – 15 October

During this session you will have a closer look at the more complex standards and how they will be examined (compound financial instruments, decommissioning provisions and borrowing costs).

Session 2 – 9 November

This session will cover statement of cashflows. During this session we will therefore look at how they can be tested and a walk through of how to revise a consolidated statement of cash flows.

 

Audit and Assurance

Session 1 – 14 October

This ICAEW revision preparation session will explicitly cover important exam techniques for answering ethics and audit report questions.

Session 2 – 2 November

During this session we will cover important exam technique for audit risk questions.

 

Tax Compliance

Session 1 – 20 October

Overall this session will cover the main IHT principles and exam technique.

Session 2 – 16 November

This revision session will cover CT computations as well as how to approach exam questions on this topic.

 

Business Planning: Taxation

Session 1 – 14 October 

Above all, this ICAEW revision session will cover the tax implications of an incorporation.

Session 2 – 10 November

In addition to session 1, session 2 will cover the tax implications of large corporate reorganisations.

 

Business Strategy and Technology

Session 1 – 15 October

Generally speaking, this will cover a question from March 18 exam- Just Houses, focusing on how to approach a data question.

Session 2 – 2 November

This ICAEW revision preparation session will look at the question Forsi – a consideration of organisational structure and also change management.

 

Financial Management

Session 1 – 19 October

Altogether this session will look at finance. We will therefore go over WACC. In addition, and if there is time, we will also discuss some possible exam scenarios around share issues.

Session 2 – 4 November

This session will cover Hedging. More particularly, we will revise, quite broadly, how each hedging method works and go through some examples.
