First Intuition’s Mini Skills sessions are back to help employers and trainees develop and maintain essential skills to work more effectively.
The pandemic has challenged essential workplace skills such as communication, resilience, confidence, time management, emotional intelligence, and change management. These ‘soft skills’ that are essential for building and achieving long-term career goals have suffered as a result of remote working, furlough, less face-to-face contact, fewer opportunities for work, and higher levels of uncertainty.
The interactive Mini Skills sessions will focus on one topic per week so viewers can develop specific skills where needed, to work more effectively and productively. The information-packed sessions will run every Wednesday lunchtime from 6th October 2021 for six weeks. The sessions are free of charge, open to anyone, and you can attend as many or as few as you like.

Communication – Wednesday 6th October 2021 – 12:30 – 13:30

You must be able to communicate clearly and efficiently about complicated financial matters with people who are unfamiliar with finance if you want to have a successful career in accountancy. This session will discuss how to improve your communication skills.
Time Management – Wednesday 13th October 2021 – 12:30 – 13:30

Emotional Intelligence – Wednesday 20th October 2021 – 12:30 – 13:30
Emotional Intelligence is about knowing what you are feeling and being able to handle those feelings without having them swamp you. It’s recognising, understanding, handling, and appropriately expressing emotions. This session will cover using emotional information from ourselves and other people, integrating this with our thinking, and using these to inform our decision-making and behaviour.
Change Management – Wednesday 27th October 2021 – 12:30 – 13:30
