The AAT Qualification
The AAT Accounting Qualification is a highly respected and globally recognised qualification. It gives students all the technical skills they need to embark on a career in finance.
The AAT caters for all students, from those with no previous experience, to those who have already had some exposure to the world of finance – who perhaps want to progress towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.
There are three levels each comprising a number of units. You must pass all of the units in order to obtain your award.
Most students will start at Level 2, however if you have relevant academic or work experience you may be able to start at Level 3. Complete the online AAT Skillcheck to determine your entry level, or call us for advice.
Level 2 Certificate in Accounting – This qualification will prepare you for any junior accounting roles. It is a great entry level into a career in finance as it provides a solid foundation in finance administration – covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software.
Level 3 Diploma in Accounting – In this qualification you will master more complex accounting disciplines including financial processes, Advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants.
Level 4 Diploma in Accounting – This qualification you will cover higher accounting tasks including drafting financial statements, managing budgets and evaluating financial performance, as well as optional specialist units including business tax, personal tax, external auditing and credit management and cash and treasury management.
“Studying AAT has changed my life as it has enabled me to access jobs that previously i would not even have managed to secure an interview for.”
