Most students complete the CIMA qualification in 3 to 4 years, though the exact timing depends on how many papers you attempt at each exam sitting and whether you have any exemptions.
We normally recommend students attempt the papers in order, though papers may be attempted in any order within each level. The levels must be completed in order.
Suggested study routes are given below.
Exam sitting | Standard route | Fast-track route |
|---|---|---|
1 | C01 - C05 (Certificate) | C01 - C05 (Certificate) |
2 | P1 + E1 or E1 + F1 | P1 + E1 + F1 |
3 | F1 + F2 or P1 + E2 | P2 + E2 + F2 |
4 | E2 + P2 or F2 + P2 | P3 + E3 + F3 |
5 | P3 + E3 + F3 | T4 |
6 | T4 |
The fast track route is ideal for those who do not work full time or those who receive study leave from their employer. Most students follow the standard route and study 2 subjects at each exam sitting.
