ACCA Professional Qualification

The ACCA professional qualification is one of the most well-known and most highly respected accountancy qualifications in the world. To qualify you must complete:

• 14 exams (9 of which are available for exemption)
• The ACCA professional ethics module
• Relevant practical work experience (minimum 3 years)

The ACCA qualification is ideal for those seeking a career in accountancy, either in business or practice. Anyone can study for the ACCA qualification and if you have previously studied a relevant subject at degree level you may be eligible for exemptions from some subjects. You can check your exemption status with ACCA online.

You do not need to have a training contract with an accountancy firm to undertake the ACCA qualification but you do need to gain relevant practical experience before you become fully qualified.

School leavers wishing to undertake the ACCA qualification must have a minimum of two A-levels and three GCSEs (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent.

Upon completion of the ACCA Fundamentals level you may undertake an additional project in order to obtain a degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. Find out more.
